Ahora vuelve Dalle al frente de un nuevo proyecto que ha bautizado con el nombre de Spinnerette y aunque según ella confiesa a MTV.com tampoco será muy diferente a su anterior banda, las influencias que cita si que hacen pensar en otra clase de sonido más reflexivo: Roky Erickson, Devo, Prince, Django Reinhardt, The Gun Club, My Bloody Valentine, Black Flag, Cyndi Lauper y Tom Petty."Va a ser diferente -me he mudado fuera de la caja del punk rock. Quiero trabajar más duro que nunca antes. Es algo que rehusé con The Distillers; tenía miedo de lo que podría haber sido. No quería parecer una especie de estrella del pop o algo. No estoy diciendo que quiera hacer algo así ahora pero ya tengo pelotas para hacerlo."Spinnerette ha ido naciendo a medida que The Distillers han ido desintegrándose, proceso que ha ido produciéndose desde hace más de dos años. Ya no soy la zorra dura y fría que solía ser."Dalle entrará en junio en el estudio junto a Alain Johannes (Eleven) y su compañero de The Distillers, Tony Bevilacqua, y otros tres miembros cuyas identidades aún no se conocen. Se pasarán el verano trabajando en el disco debut de Spinnerette.Por el momento, en la web oficial del grupo ya podemos oír una demo ("Case Of The Swirls") aunque parece que no es indicativo de lo que contendrá el álbum. "(El álbum) es un poquito más directo -un poquito de cacofonías pero saldrá bien. En The Dstillers no quería hacer nada demasiado drástico ni nada demasiado sabroso. Podría haber metido más en 'Coral Fang' pero me contuve deliberadamente. Y (el productor) Gil Norton decía, '¿Por qué no ponemos algunas panderteas aquí?', yo le contestaba, 'De ninguna manera, joder. ¿Panderetas? ¡Que te jodan!'. No quería estropear el sonido. Quería que fuese lo más crudo posible.Odio cuando un comunicado de prensa dice, 'Oh, esta banda ha madurado y se ha refinado'. Si tuviera que describirlo, diría que es 're-listo'. En lugar de retrasado llámalo 're-listo'. Me gusta esa palabra."

Brody Dalle (cuyo verdadero nombre es Bree Leslie Pucilowski) nació el 1 de enero de 1979 en Melbourne, Australia. Es la cantante, compositora y guitarra de la banda de punk rock The Distillers.

El padre de Brody es inglés y su madre es descendiente de polacos e italianos. Sus padres se separaron cuando ella era muy joven pero su madre se casó y tuvo otro hijo.

Biografía [editar]

La vida de Brody siempre fue difícil. Cuando era pequeña fue expulsada de cuatro escuelas y fue enviada a una institución católica para chicas. Las estrictas reglas de ese lugar no afectaron su comportamiento antisocial y autodestructivo, al contrario, lo incentivaron.

En su adolescencia, Brody solía cortarse y tomar drogas (aunque en una entrevista con la revista The Face en 2004, negó tomar drogas habitualmente) intentando encontrar una salida para su ira. La inestable relación con su madre tocó fondo cuando en una pelea intentaron estrangularse una a otra en la cocina de su casa.

Al final de su adolescencia, formó una banda llamada Sourpuss, con la que consiguió varios fans y llegó a tocar con Beastie Boys y Sonic Youth en un festival en Somersault, Australia. Allí conoció a Tim Armstrong, cantante de la banda Rancid cuando tenía 16 años y se enamoraron casi instantáneamente. A pesar que Tim es 13 años mayor y que ella mintió sobre su edad, se casaron cuando Brody tenía 18 años. Se mudó con Armstrong de Melbourne a Los Angeles, California y fundó The Distillers.

The Distillers lanzaron su primer album titulado "The Distillers" en el año 2000 siendo aclamado por la banda Hole. en 2003, The Distillers volvieron al estudio para grabar su segundo album, Sing Sing Death House, lanzando 2 singles: "The Young Crazed Peeling" y "City of Angels." En 2003 lanzaron Coral Fang, siendo este su último album hasta la fecha. De este album lanzaron 3 singles: "Drain The Blood", "Beat Your Heart Out" y "The Hunger". Ese mismo año tocaron en Lollapalooza.

Dalle y Armstrong se divorciaron en 2003. Luego, Brody usó el apellido de su actriz favorita, Béatrice Dalle de Betty Blue. Felizmente, Brody dejo atrás sus años de drogas, y ha formado una familia con Josh Homme, cantante de la banda Queens of the Stone Age. El 17 de enero de 2006, dio a luz a su primera hija, Camille Harley Homme. Recientemente, Brody declaró en su página web que estaba embarazada, pero no de un segundo hijo sinó de un nuevo disco. En enero de 2007, Brody anunció que la banda se disolvió, y que ha formado una nueva banda llamada "Spinnerette" junto a Tony Bradley (guitarrista de The Distillers).
